Japan Diaries | Hidden Kyoto Bike Tour and Shopping in Kyoto
I started my third day in Kyoto with a bike tour. Despite my reservations (it was cold that day), the tour ended up being a lot of fun. It was nice having someone give some insight and history on shrines and temples as we viewed them. Plus, my tour guide gave an excellent recommendation for a soba place to try after the tour.

This is my first true solo trip. With all my hopes and expectations of Japan, I think being able to adapt, wander, and get sidetracked at will was needed for this trip. I found comfort in the freedom to wander and explore, allowing myself to get lost in the moment and rediscover the joy of spontaneity.

Racing and Exploring Denmark
A couple weeks ago, I travelled back to Denmark for the Copenhagen Athletics Games. I came for the meet and then stayed an extra week to explore what my friend likes to call “the real Denmark”. I found Denmark to be incredibly relaxing. I’m always interested in finding out how people in other countries live and learning about the differences in cultures and lifestyles. Denmark was full of welcoming people, sustainable energy, safe bike lanes, and calming pastures.
