Japan Diaries | Day Trip to Osaka
Osaka Aquarium, Dotonbori, Relaxing Cafe and Ceramics Gallery
I’ve been using these Japan vlogs to experiment and explore different editing styles. Trying my hand at something new makes editing a bit longer, but I’m enjoying the process so far.
Anyway, I’m going to let the video do the talking for this day trip in Osaka. I changed my plans mid-trip about a dozen times and finally just decided to relax at a cafe when I was mentally spent.
Looking back, I have no regrets on the way I explored Osaka, though I would definitely be happy to return and spend more time exploring the busier, more hectic areas of the city.
I’d also love to do more research on places to eat and do a proper food tour of the area.
My full Osaka itinerary is below, for those interested.
Day 4 | Day Trip to Osaka
Day 4
Breakfast at Kacto, near the Kamogawa River
Train to Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan - You can book online ahead of time, but buying a ticket the day of worked out just fine for me. Time slots are in 30 min. increments. I spent a good 2 hours here.
Train to the Shinsaibashi Area - Shopped at Nike Osaka. Another round of tax-free shopping successfully completed.
Walk to Dotonbori - Busy area with lots of street food, bright lights, shopping, etc. I grabbed some amazing takoyaki here.
Spent the rest of my time at WAD Cafe.
Train back to hotel in Kyoto.
Matcha and snacks at WAD Cafe.
Yakimochi is one of the more popular snacks at the cafe.
